Earlier this month, Reid Lifting had the pleasure of attending the Water Equipment Show in Telford, hosted by The Pump Centre.
As one of the UK’s leading exhibitions dedicated to the water and wastewater sector, the show brings together key professionals, suppliers, and decision-makers from across the industry. It’s an essential event for staying informed on the latest innovations, regulatory updates, and challenges facing the sector, particularly as it adapts to growing environmental and infrastructure demands.
For Reid Lifting, it was great to see so many new and familiar faces, engage in insightful conversations, and showcase our latest lifting solutions.
PortaDavit vs PortaDavit Quantum
This year, we showcased many products, but for the first time in a long time, we brought the PORTADAVIT – The product that laid the groundwork for so many of our davits.
Our PORTADAVIT is lightweight, rapidly deployable, and capable of lifting up to 1000kg with a full 360-degree rotation – all operated by a single person. It’s a go-to for pump maintenance and other lifting applications across the water sector.
Right beside it, we showcased its modern descendant – the PORTADAVIT Quantum (PDQ). This side-by-side comparison highlighted how far we’ve come in terms of materials, ergonomics, and application-specific design. Interestingly, many of the PDQ’s advancements were shaped by feedback and requirements from the water industry itself – a true example of innovation driven by real-world needs.
Talking Standards: Stuart Linnitt Takes the Stage
The highlight of the day was our very own Stuart Linnitt, Sales Director, presenting on the topic of standardising solutions in the water industry, with particular focus on how we can enhance reactive and planned maintenance by reducing reliance on fixed and bespoke infrastructure.
Stuarts session highlighted the importance of compliance, safety and equipment design tailored to water industry standards and with the implementation of AMP8.
