Portable Gantries for more autonomy in the field
The background
As part of its maintenance operations on its distribution networks, NaTran were looking for a more autonomous and flexible solution to carry out improvements such as meter and valve replacements.
The challenge
A variety of challenges arose such as uneven ground, constrained environments, but more importantly, they wanted to reduce the dependence on external service providers; so ease of use for the workers was key.
The SOLUTION
At the end of our discussion, NaTran teams chose to test the PORTAGANTRY Rapide, combined with a YaleMINI 360 manual hoist. This solution allows for quick set-up (tool-free assembly by one person in 2 minutes), great portability (transportable in a van) and compatibility with difficult terrain thanks to the independent height adjustment of the 4 legs.
A test carried out in Ploërmel confirmed the effectiveness of the equipment. The gantry was used to lift a meter, place it on a pneumatic wheeled trolley and then transport it to the intervention vehicle.
